Season XIII - Round 14Season Closes with Moe’s Firmly on Top The John Smith’s Lower Sukhumvit League has finished its thirteenth season, and Flaming Moe teams took the honours in both divisions. Flaming Moe’s took their third consecutive title, and the Moe Syzlak Experience triumphed unbeaten. At the head of division one, Flaming Moe’s took their third title with a superb record of twelve wins, two draws, and no losses. During the season it looked like first one then the other of the two Domino teams would challenge Moe’s to the end, and indeed they finished second and third, with Domino Titans just edging out sister team Domino Inter. Fourth placed Bully Cobras narrowly led the Offshore Overboards, who were champions of season ten before the arrival of the all conquering Moe’s. The battle for sixth place raged right until the last minutes of the very last game, with Cowboy Job facing Cat’s Meow. A win for either team would see them avoid relegation and thrust that fate upon their opponents, though with a points-difference advantage the Jobbers could afford the draw. Kai opened the scoring for the Cats, but Lui evened things for the Job before Ray beat Trond to put the Cats back in charge going into the doubles. With team returnee Kerry as his partner, Kenny’s superb two-dart 101 close claimed the first doubles to put the Job in lead for the first time, and the Cats knew that losing one more doubles would seal their fate. Kai and Steve took the second doubles to once again lead the match, but the combination of Lui and Kenny would prove to be too strong, and Lui’s two checks gave them the point they needed to stay in the first division. Cat’s Meow will therefore keep the Lazy Pelicans company as both teams slip to the second division for next season. In division two, The Moe Syzlak Experience proved unbeatable and took the season by storm, winning all fourteen of their games. They led second placed Silver Dollar by nine points, and this sees both teams promoted. The remainder of division two was not spread as widely, and Blues On The Rocks put in an admirable performance in third place. Domino Stone and the Moonshine Assassins tied on twelve points each; with the Domino team taking fourth on points-difference. The Shining finished sixth, narrowly ahead of the Pelican Leftovers. New to league darts in season thirteen, the Down Under Wabbalies finished last, but with a very creditable three victories to their name in their debut season, and the high close of the season in the second division from Chris with a 116 check. The next season of the league is being organised now, and anyone interested in joining or entering a team should check the website at www.BambooSiam.com or email darts@bamboosiam.com. The league welcomes new players, whether living in Bangkok or on holiday. The league would like to thank this season’s sponsors, John Smith’s, for the end of season party which will be held at D’Pelican Inn. Results
