Season XIII - Round 13One Question Left as Season Draws to a Close With only the last round of Season Thirteen to play, most of the questions in the John Smiths Lower Sukhumvit League have been answered. The Division One title has gone once again to Flaming Moe’s. Having led the table since round seven, they have looked like the champions for quite a while, but only became mathematically so after round twelve when runners-up Domino Titans lost to Cowboy Job. Having drawn in a local derby, the Titans’ sister team Domino Inter stand in third place tied on match-points but behind on game-points difference. Inter face the champions in the final game, and despite the title being settled they will still be aiming for points in the hope of catching the Titans who face the Offshore Overboards. In Division Two the title has been clear for a lot longer. The Moe Syzlak Experience have not lost a game all season, and rightly stand nine points clear. Standing second, Silver Dollar have won eight of their thirteen matches this season and with the Syzlaks have secured promotion to the first division for next season. So, what remains undecided? The titles have been won and the promotions are set, but at the tail of division one things have boiled down to the very last game. The Lazy Pelicans have accepted for some time that they will see season fourteen from division two, but tied in the other relegation spot stand Cowboy Job and Cat’s Meow, who must face each other in the final match. The Job’s points-difference is unassailable, so the draw or win will see relegation avoided, but the Cat’s have home advantage on their side in their must-win battle. As old adversaries, the two teams will be looking to their top players. The Job have Kenny and Trond, both with 180 maximums recently in the season, though Suriya and Meow have both also had maximums in the season. Any experienced thrower knows though, that check-outs win games, and the Cats have Kai leading the individual highs with a 142 out against Jobber Kenny in second place with 118. Results
