Season XIII - Round 9

Domino Titans Stay in Touch

Even two 180 maximums from the Bully Cobras were not enough to stop Domino Titans winning in round nine of the John Smith’s Lower Sukhumvit league. The two points for the match win keep them only one point adrift from Division One leaders Flaming Moe’s.

Neither Moe’s nor the Titans have lost a game this season, but Moe’s lead having had two draws to the Titans’ three. The league leaders beat Cat’s Meow in their round nine home encounter, after Steve and Kai started the match with singles wins over Ben and Simon. Also at home, Cowboy Job recorded their second win of the season, beating Domino Inter eight-two, and the Offshore Overboards won away at The Pelican, letting slip only of two singles games to the Lazy Pelicans.

The Moe Syzlak Experience maintained their perfect record at the top of Division Two with a ninth season victory, visiting the valiant Down Under Wabbalies. In a very competitive season, this was surprisingly only the third ten-nil victory, which is unfortunate for the Wabbalies as the first of these was the last time these two teams met!

The top four teams in Division two all won in round nine, meaning that a split is starting to appear where there was a very broad and competitive middle ground. The Shining deserve to be enjoying their fourth win of the season, this time six to four visiting On The Rocks. Domino Stone also won away, beating the Moonshine Assassins nine-one, and while Silver Dollar now stand seven points behind the Syzlaks, their second place is only a very competitive single point ahead of Domino Stone who in turn lead the Shining by only one point.
