Kenny has extended his
lead at the top of the individual table with a superb performance at
home at the Moonshine Joint. His twelve tons and six closes, including
a bull close to take the first doubles, netted him an overall
twenty-seven individual points, the highest of the season so far by
quite a margin. His team’s opponents, The Evicted Ones also put up a
good performance, coming away with four of the points on offer. This
broke their winning streak however, and means that they change places
with Cat’s Job, who now go second following their away victory at Silver
Dollar. For “The Job”, this is a remarkable turn-around, as surprising
to the players as to anyone, the same individuals having managed only
two draws and no wins in the whole of last season!
At Cat’s Meow the home
team’s unbroken win streak continued as they beat Starlight Blues eight
to two, despite the evening’s other great individual performance.
Julian’s first doubles saw him put in five tons, a 180 and a 120 close,
the first high close of the season. Unfortunately this was not enough
and Giffy’s two checks, both on four, gave them that game. Julian’s
eighteen individual points on the evening though did boost his
individual standing, and he is now the third of three players tied on 33
points. Nok stands two points above that in fifth, with Steve and Kai
on 36, and Giffy in second place on 38. Kenny’s lead now stands at 19.
At Offshore the home
team took an eight-two victory against Texas Rangers. Taxi took his
singles against Bruce, and the team narrowly won the Mickey Mouse giving
them their first two game points of the season, though they still wait,
along with Starlight Blues and Silver Dollar for their first match
points of the season. For the home team both Mike and Rob put in strong
showings, giving them the evening’s third and fourth highest tallies
respectively.
Texas Rangers are at
home to Silver Dollar in round four, so points are guaranteed for
someone, while Starlight Blues will be extremely keen to break their
streak at home to ACSP. Elsewhere Cat’s Job are at home to Offshore,
while Cat’s Meow travel to New Cowboy to face The Evicted Ones.
