Andy (Chequers’ Checkers) is obviously
very eager to keep not only the number one spot at the top of the
individual table, but all of the other honours that are out there!
The new tons record stands at fourteen, beating Maximus’s Kenny’s
thirteen, although the points total that Andy achieved against
Moonshine Joint was one short of Kenny’s current league record of
twenty-four, having achieved one ton more, but one close less. If
its any consolation Andy, you have accounted for half of the six
twenty-plus individual week scores achieved so far!
Individual High Scores to Date:
24 Kenny
23 Andy
22 Andy
21 Johnny
20 Ned
20 Andy
Round seven saw three convincing
victories, with nine point victories both for Offshore Overboards at
home to Buffalo Job, and Maximus visiting Buffalo Rangers.
Chequers’ Checkers hosted Moonshine Joint, with eight points going
to the home team. Changes have taken place in mid table again with
Maximus and Moonshine Joint swapping places again, and Offshore
Overboards and Buffalo Rangers swapping places again. The small
points difference mid table with three rounds to go suggests that
more changes may yet be in order, although the teams at the top and
bottom both look as though they are claiming ownership of their
places!
*IMPORTANT*
As many of you will have noticed in
previous years, this part of the year in Thailand is peppered with
bank holidays, and the coming weeks are no exception. We have three
league weeks to go, and the next three weeks are all red numbers on
the calendar! The 1st is National Labour day, and may be
a long weekend for many, especially as Monday 5th is
Coronation Day. Thursday 8th is Royal Ploughing Ceremony
Day, which shouldn’t affect play in any way, but Thursday 15th
is Visakha Bucha Day, which may even be a bar closing day. The
suggestion therefore would be that we do not play on the 1st
or the 15th, which would mean that the final three rounds
are played on the 8th, 22nd, and 29th,
and these are now the scheduled dates on the season calendar below.
If any teams would like to go ahead and play on the 1st
or 15th then please make sure that you have confirmed
this with your opposing captain.
