After round three we had four teams
sharing four points each, so something just had to give, and that
something was Offshore Overboards! Losing 6-4 at Moonshine Joint,
Offshore Overboards drop to fourth in the table, which in turn moves
Maximus up into second, particularly in light of their 10-0
whitewash of Buffalo Job, a game played at Maximus’s new home bar:
Starlight. The other action of the evening saw Chequers’ Checkers
visit Buffalo Rangers, and leave with an 8-2 victory. This match
saw a 180 for Kevin, and another huge individual-points haul for
Andy, both of Chequers’ Checkers. The battle at the top of the
individual statistics is still between Andy and Ned, who are
starting to leave the rest of the field behind!
Maximus have moved! Due to the sale
of the bar they were housed in, Maximus’s new home venue is
Starlight Bar, just a couple of bars further into the plaza behind
Moonshine Joint on Soi 22.
Captains: please have a think about
the games over the Songkran period. Some people hide, and some run
away, so games can be disrupted (personally, I run away)!. Should
we miss the 10th and 17th altogether? Let me
know what you think. Any changes to schedule are available
immediately on the website, and results are usually up on Friday or
Saturday, long before hard copies arrive at the bars, so keep
checking back here at www.BambooSiam.com
For anyone interested in escaping from
the Bangkok-style Songkran hostilities, an altogether gentler time
is to be had in Hua Hin. Osmo will be organising various events
over the period, covering mini-golf, petang, pool, darts, beach
volleyball and of course, beer drinking. If you fancy joining in,
events will be held on the 12th, 13th and 14th,
and for more details please either contact myself at
LSDL@BambooSiam.com or Osmo at BambooGroveHuaHin@yahoo.co.uk, or
take a look at www.BambooSiam.com.
